Sterling silver and 14k Gold Filled jewellery materials It is important that bridal jewellery only be made using the highest in quality materials. Sterling silver and 14K gold filled is used in most of my designs. A few designs will have exposed silver/gold plated metal parts but this will clearly be stated on the item page for that piece. What is gold filled? 14/20 Gold-filled means that the outer 5% of each metal part is real 14K Gold that has been mechanically bonded to a base metal. This is hundreds of times thicker than electroplating and is resistant to wear. Jewellery How do I choose the right necklace and/or bracelet length? The measurements shown on all of the necklace and bracelet pages are from end to end and include the clasps Bracelet Sizing To measure for a bracelet, wrap a flexible tape measure around your wrist bone. Guidelines to keep your tiaras and jewellery sparkly and lustrous Tarnishing: Naturally occurring oxidants found in the air and oils in the skin will tarnish your tiara and jewellery. Silver plated and sterling silver are more prone to tarnishing than gold. To help prevent this please store your items in their original packaging and then inside an air tight container. Avoid direct contact with hairsprays, perfumes, deodorants, detergents and salt water. Remove jewellery before washing dishes or bathing. Cleaning: Do not use boiling water or ammonia cleaners. Remove any dust or grime from your Freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystals and pearls simply rub and buff gently with a soft lint free cloth. Very dirty pearls and crystals can be washed in a mild soapy solution and then should be dried thoroughly after. Avoid unnecessary stress at the clasps to prevent breakage. A jeweller's cloth will bring back the shine on any dull tarnished metal parts. |
